F.A.Q.
Call or email me.
Let me know what you have, what make, model and year, and what you have in mind. In some cases people have an idea of what they want and they are shopping for the best artist to bring it to completion. In other cases, you’d like to have something done, but are unsure of what. Let’s talk and flesh out ideas. (Often times I have found that what was a starting point develops into another direction.)
Bring in or email any drawings, pictures, or ideas you have. Share with me what you have to work with.
We’ll sit down together and sketch out your idea; I’ll also assume you want my input. We can still make alterations as needed after the idea is sketched out, but we will then have a starting point and we will both know what to expect.
***Note*** If you are price shopping and looking for the lowest price, please understand I am not in production. I am not cranking out stamped parts like an assembly line. One artist’s work is not the same as the next.
Your piece will be one of a kind, custom artwork.
***Note*** Prices fluctuate so any price quoted in six months time may change.
If your parts are in good condition, then we’re all set to proceed to final artwork. I will clean the parts with wax and grease remover, twice. I will then wet sand and clean again before I proceed to lay any color. (Wet sanding scuffs the parts so that the paint can chemically and physically bond to the substrate.)
If your parts have a dent, deep scratch, rust, or any other imperfection, then they must be fixed before I begin. Body work is subcontracted out and the cost adjusted to the job.
If you want to rebase all your parts, then the above applies. The individual parts will be taken down to bare metal, metal etched, primed, based, and cleared. I’ll do my artwork on top of the clear coat and reclear the parts once I’ve finished. The artwork will be sandwiched in between the coats of clear, adding depth.
Before I begin sketching out your idea I’ll require a one hundred dollar deposit (it’ll be applied to your project cost). If you decide for whatever reason to drop the project, I will have been compensated for my time.
Once I know what you are looking for and what I have to do to, I’ll be able to quote a ballpark price.
A partial payment is due when parts are dropped off. A second payment is due during the process and the final payment must be made when you pick up your parts.
I accept cash, checks, and payments made through PayPal. I do not accept credit card payments.
